Last night, Jake Cherry, the President of the San Antonio Rescue Mission, was honored at a ceremony at San Antonio’s North East Independent School District’s (NEISD) Heroes Stadium with a plaque on their Wall of Heroes. The NEISD chose Jake who is a 1957 graduate of North East High School (now named MacArthur High School) as a model of servant leadership and commitment to the community for more than 40 years. District and school officials were present as well as Jake’s family members, friends, and SARM Board members. An article about the event on the NEISD website can be read HERE. A short video was made last night by NEISD capturing the event and can be seen on YouTube HERE. Another video was made honoring Jake which can be viewed on YouTube HERE. More pictures of the event which were taken by NEISD and posted in Flickr, can be seen HERE. Jake was also honored at the football game later that night.
Congratulations, Jake for being a Hero in many ways, including NEISD’s Wall of Heroes!
